Since 2011 and until co-founding Twin Light Capital in 2019, Chad Buchanan was Chief Investment Officer at Tryko Partners, a privately-held investment firm whose portfolio included 3,000 skilled nursing beds and 2,000 seniors housing units, as well as 4,000 multifamily units and extensive private equity interests in other sectors including behavioral health.

Prior to joining Tryko in 2011, Chad was Vice President at a distressed debt investment affiliate and spin-out of Harbinger Capital Partners, a NY-based hedge fund. Before that, he held VP and Associate positions with NY-based investment banking firm The Carlton Group and Schonbraun McCann Group (now FTI Consulting).

Throughout Chad’s investment and advisory career, he has successfully completed more than $5 billion of senior care, seniors housing and real estate investment transactions, with realized and unrealized returns consistently outperforming performance objectives.

Prior to co-founding Twin Light Capital in 2019, John Masterpalo was a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young LLP in the Financial Services Organization with a focus in the Wealth and Asset Management sector, specializing in alternative investment firms, providing assurance and advisory services to hedge funds, private equity funds, and fund of funds clients, including their management companies and other financial institutions.

John’s clients included managers with a variety of investment strategies, structures, locations, and ranged from start-ups to top tier global asset managers, including managers with AUM in excess of $50 billion. John advised his clients on front, middle and back-office operations including, structuring, financial reporting, valuation policy, as well as regulatory policy, tax matters, risk management, and compliance matters.

John is a licensed CPA and a member of the AICPA.
